The next five years look set to be busy ones for Shailer Park swimmer Angela Bubb.
The 13-year-old spends most of her week in the water at Logan North Aquatic and Fitness Centre as she chases her dream to secure a spot in the Paralympic swimming team heading for Paris in 2024.
She generally spends five days a week at the Sports Drive centre working with head squad coach Drew Millar.
Mr Millar believes the talented swimmer has the drive to achieve Paralympic glory.
Angela, a Year 8 student at Calvary Christian College, was born without her right foot but has never let it stop her chasing and achieving her dreams.
She uses a prosthetic leg and foot, removing them when she enters the water.
Mr Millar said one of the most special things about Angela was that she didn't see herself as a person with disabilities.
Last December she began to prove her mettle when she competed at seven events at the Queensland championships in the integrated multi-class bringing home five gold and one silver medal.
Angela also achieved four Queensland age records as she raced against Paralympic swimmers in the adults section.
She now has her sights set on more medals at the Australian age championships in Adelaide over Easter.
It is her first Australian championships, Angela will contest nine events in the 11 to 14-year-old division.
City Lifestyle and Community Committee Chairperson, Councillor Steve Swenson, wished Angela all the best on behalf of the city as she heads for Adelaide.
"Angela put in a wonderful performance at the Queensland championships last year and I know she will once again do the City of Logan proud at the Australian championships," he said.
