Parramatta leaps into 2023 with Year of Rabbit festivities

Hop to the City of Parramatta and celebrate the Year of the Rabbit with a series of free and fun activities throughout January - culminating with a delicious noodle market under the stars.

From giant inflatable rabbits, Chinese calligraphy and mahjong, to KPOP dance classes and beautiful art installations, Council's Lunar New Year celebrations will be a feast for the senses.

An incredible night noodle market will take over the CBD on Saturday 21 January with tasty street food, a stunning lunar lantern display and live entertainment.

Visitors can enjoy authentic and mouth-watering food from across Asia, including dishes from Yan's Asian Caterer, May's Malaysian Hawker, Lugaw Queen, Japanese Pizza Okonomiyaki, Yummy Time Dumpling, Mrs Wang's Dumplings and Parilla Argenchino.

Wash it down with refreshing drinks from Yebu Sugarcane Juice, Slurpalicious and Yum Thai Juice Bar, or go straight to dessert with treats from Duo Duo Ice Cream and Gelato Fruit Mania.

There will also be live entertainment and roving performers throughout the evening, including traditional lion dancers and the God of Fortune handing out lucky red packets.

To mark the Year of the Rabbit, visitors to Parramatta can also explore a trail of illuminated giant inflatable rabbits by Parer Studio, which will be dotted across the CBD, alongside specially -

commissioned street banners by artist Louise Zhang featuring lucky colours red, pink, purple and blue.
