Pauline, maybe problem is you

Australian Conservatives Release

"I cop all this sh** all the time, and I'm sick of it. Absolutely sick of it": Pauline Hanson on A Current Affair on Tuesday night.

Conservative Party leader Cory Bernardi has called out Pauline Hanson's "victim" act saying he is sick of One Nation's hypocrisy too.

An article in today's Weekend Australian says, for years we paid the wages of those in Canberra who, inadvertently, created Pauline Hanson as a political force.

Their neglect of large swaths of Australia gave her an in. But since then, she's now become the longest, most tedious leader of grievance politics.

And we're paying for that in so many ways.

That ragtag team of Pauline Hanson's One Nation, we're sick of them too. So, spare us the tears. The pain is at our end if only you could see past your self-pity.

Your teary whinge that other politicians "sailed through" controversies while you face a "kick-her-in-the-guts" attitude doesn't pass the pub test.

Dry your eyes, princess. You could have sacked your right-hand man James Ashby and dumped Steve Dickson from the One Nation ticket. That would have been the mark of leadership when you discovered they were trying to pocket foreign donations from the US National Rifle Association in return for diluting Australian gun laws.

Instead, after hiding away for a few days due to a "tick bite" on your face, you fronted a camera with those bozos by your side, whining about evil conspiracies and foreign interference by Al-Jazeera's investigation. Don't you see the hypocrisy? Your minions were trying to ink a $20 million deal with foreign interferers.

You told Tracy Grimshaw this week that you didn't order these men to go to the US or to have discussions about watering down gun laws. But they did. And you chose to defend them. That's on you.

Just like those bank bosses you sledged when their employees screwed over customers, the buck stops with you. You said rogue bankers should be locked up. When your people went rogue, what penalty did you dish out?

After more than two decades in politics, give or take a few absences, you have not budged from your grievance agenda. Lots of conspiracies and complaints. Senator, you whine about free trade, immigration, welfare, climate change, our farming land, and foreigners buying our assets.

But you offer no solutions to important issues that voters feel anxious about.

It tells you something when polls suggest voters are turning away from you and One Nation in favour of a bloke who didn't pay his workers. Maybe people are sick of your grievance politics.
