PCFA Seeks Young Men for Video Series

PCFA

Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia is keen to hear about people's experiences with prostate cancer as part of a 'Speaking from Experience' video series. This series is developed by PCFA's Support & Community Outreach team in partnership with leading health education provider Healthily, and is accessible on PCFA's Online Community. The aim of the series is to provide video resources to better assist men to navigate the health system when they have received a diagnosis of prostate cancer.

In the upcoming 'Speaking from Experience' PCFA would like to hear from men in a 'younger' life stage, in the context of a prostate cancer diagnosis 'younger' can mean:

  • Men who have ongoing responsibilities such as having a young family, or caring for an elderly parent
  • Men who are in the middle, or the peak, of their career, with pressures around taking time off for treatment
  • Typically, these men are diagnosed before the age of 60 years.

We are also hoping to include the diverse experience of younger men such as gay and bisexual, cultural and linguistic diverse, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, or regional backgrounds.

We would also like to hear from the partners, family members, or other people who have provided support along-side a younger man.

Filming will be at a professional studio in Melbourne, therefore you will need to be available to travel around Friday 9 November 2018.
