Pedestrian hit by car at Elizabeth East, South Australia

A teenager was taken to hospital after being struck by a car at Elizabeth East this afternoon.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Main North Road and Yorktown Road, Elizabeth East at 2.30pm on Wednesday 20 July.

The 13-year-old girl was taken to the Women's and Children's Hospital by ambulance. Her injuries are serious but not considered life-threatening.

The male driver of the car was shaken by the incident, but not physically injured.

Traffic restrictions are in place while police examine and then clear the scene.
