Community is at the heart of plans for Soul Street, the family-friendly New Year's Eve celebration in Byron Bay.
Soul Street will cater for all ages with two main areas of entertainment in the town, Jonson Street and Dening Park.
The entertainment in Jonson Street will go from 4pm to 8pm and the action on the main stage at Dening Park starts at 6pm.
Byron Shire Mayor, Michael Lyon, said Soul Street will cater for everyone, from the very young to the young at heart.
"New Year's Eve in Byron Bay is an alcohol-free event and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated," Mayor Lyon said.
"This year has been very challenging for our community, as well as our friends and family in the whole Northern Rivers area, and many are looking forward to 2023 rolling in," he said.
"We welcome families to Byron Bay to bring in the new year at a celebration that is safe, inclusive, and respectful.
"The streets of Byron Bay will not be a place to come for a big party and there will be a strong police presence to ensure that everyone has a good time," Mayor Lyon said.

A section of Jonson Street will be closed to traffic, along with the Lawson Street south carpark and the Main Beach carpark but all roads will reopen early on New Year's Day.
There will also be changes to parking in Bay Street and there is no camping in streets or cars.
