A refreshed playground is on the way for families in Pakenham, with construction underway at Ron Andrews Park.
As part of Cardinia Shire's 2025-26 Playground Renewals program, Council is upgrading the existing playground at Ron Andrews Park.
As part of the upgrades, the ageing timber playground equipment is being replaced with an exciting combination play structure designed to spark imagination, support active play and cater to children of diverse ages and abilities.
What's coming to the upgraded playground:
- A brand-new combination play unit offering exciting, challenging and imaginative play opportunities
- New rubber safety surfacing
- New path connection to boost accessibility
- Natural landscaping
- Drainage improvement works
- Existing equipment such as the pod swing, combination swings and rotating climber will be kept and co-located into the new playground
Located between Sandalwood Drive and Clifford Drive, Ron Andrews Park is a popular spot for local families, and these upgrades will bring even more opportunities for families to play, socialise and enjoy time outdoors.
Community consultation and feedback gathered in 2025 has played a key role in shaping the final plans for this playground upgrade.
To allow the works to progress safely, the playground will be temporarily closed during construction. All other areas of the park, including walking paths and picnic facilities, will remain open for community use.
Council is working closely with the contractor to minimise disruptions, and we thank residents for their patience as we work to build better open spaces for all.
Construction is expected to be completed by June 2026, weather permitting. Once complete, the renewed playground will provide a richer, more engaging play experience and continue Ron Andrews Park's role as a welcoming outdoor space for local families.
