More than 500 community sport and recreation infrastructure projects have been delivered across Western Australia through the Cook Labor Government's bold initiative PlayOn WA: 2,030 by 2030.
Since its launch on 1 July 2025, a total of 542 new and upgraded infrastructure assets have been completed, including 384 across metropolitan WA and 158 throughout regional communities.
This major milestone reflects the Cook Labor Government's ongoing commitment to ensuring local sporting infrastructure keeps pace with growing communities while creating more opportunities for Western Australians to stay active and connected.
Through PlayOn WA the Cook Labor Government is delivering new and upgraded playing fields, courts, clubrooms, lighting, change rooms, spectator facilities, aquatic infrastructure and recreation spaces that support grassroots sport and recreation across the State.
The initiative helps deliver facilities that are more inclusive, accessible and capable of meeting growing demand, with projects supporting women and girls, people with disability, volunteers and communities of all sizes.
The delivery of more than 500 assets demonstrates the strong momentum behind the Cook Labor Government's commitment to deliver 2,030 community sport and recreation infrastructure assets by 2030.
By investing in modern, fit-for-purpose facilities, the Cook Labor Government is helping local clubs attract more participants, extend competition scheduling, and create welcoming spaces where people of all ages and abilities can enjoy the benefits of sport and recreation.
