Police Appeal: Mount Garnet Hit-and-Run Crash

Police have released vision of a vehicle of interest following a serious hit-and-run traffic crash at Mount Garnet on 2 May.

Around 2.30am, two men were walking along the Kennedy Highway, near Spring Creek Bridge, approximately 1.5 kilometres from the Mount Garnet Rodeo grounds, when they were struck by a vehicle travelling in the same direction.

The vehicle failed to stop and render assistance.

An 18-year-old Mount Garnet man sustained critical injuries and was airlifted to Cairns Base Hospital.

A 25-year-old Mount Garnet man was transported to Atherton Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for the owner of the white utility (pictured) with a metal cage on the back to come forward, as they may be able to assist with investigations

Investigations are ongoing.
