Police appeal to identify man hit by truck in Tamworth

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man after he was struck in the state's northeast last week.

About 8.10pm on Friday (14 April 2023), emergency services were called to Goonoo Goonoo Road, Tamworth, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Oxley Police District found a pedestrian - a man believed to be in his 40s - had been struck by a truck.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The male truck driver was uninjured and was taken to Tamworth Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, police are requesting public assistance to identify the man. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s with brown hair, moustache and beard. The man was wearing a black and red jumper, light coloured pants, a cap and work boots.
