Police appeal to locate teenager missing from Westmead

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a girl missing from Sydney's west.

Melek Kasim, aged 12, was last seen near Westmead railway station about 3.30pm on Wednesday (22 November 2023).

Unable to be located or contacted since, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.

Police hold concerns for Melek's welfare due to her age.

She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of thin build, 160cm-170cm tall, with black hair and black eyes.

She was last seen wearing her school uniform and a scarf.

She is known to frequent the Liverpool and Lansvale areas.
