Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash in Euroa this afternoon.
Investigators have been told a female driver was travelling along Forlonge Memorial Road when she crashed into a tree about 5pm.
The female driver sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital for treatment.
Her female passenger, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
