Police are responding to fatal crash - Noonamah 22 June

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Stuart Highway at Noonamah last night.

Around 7:45pm, the Joint Emergency Services Call Centre was alerted to a crash between a car and a motorcycle. All services responded, however a 54-year-old man died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is assisting police with inquiries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner said, "Major Crash detectives worked through the night to record the scene, interview witnesses and investigate the circumstances of the crash.

"The at-fault driver, a 47-year-old man, tested positive for cannabis and was arrested for the purpose of obtaining a blood sample at hospital. He's since been released pending further investigation and forensic toxicological analysis."
