Police are responding to serious crash at Freeling, South Australia

Police are at the scene of a serious crash on the Thiele Highway at Freeling.

About 6pm today (Sunday 5 June), police and emergency services were called to the area after reports that a car towing a trailer had collided with a motorcycle, seriously injuring the rider.

The male driver got out of the ute and spoke to witnesses before driving off, in a light-coloured tray-top ute. The trailer was left behind at the scene.

The driver is described as being aged in his late teens/early 20s, slim build, and was wearing a dark-coloured t-shirt and light-coloured pants.

The ute would have damage to the left side of the vehicle, which may have been sustained before the collision. The ute may also have the trailer electrical plug attached to the rear bumper.

Road restrictions are in place, and please avoid the area if possible.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or sees a vehicle matching this description is asked to the Police Assistance Line on 131444.
