Northern Grampians Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested a man following the execution of a search warrant in Stawell.
Local detectives were assisted by the Bomb Response Unit and Arson and Explosives Squad with the warrant at an address on Childe Street about 11am this morning.
Investigators discovered and seized cannabis, a cross bow, laser pointers and up to 40kg of what is believed to be precursor explosive material.
A 62-year old Stawell man was arrested at the scene.
The man has been charged with cultivate and possess cannabis and possess prohibited weapon.
Further charges are expected to be laid in relation to possession of explosive materials.
He was bailed to appear at Stawell Magistrates' Court on 21 December.
