Police Arrest Man After Ferntree Gully Assault

Police have arrested a man after an elderly man was assaulted in Ferntree Gully last month.

It is alleged the man verbally abused the 82-year-old man on the Blind Creek Trail after he asked him to slow down on his e-scooter about 1.30pm on Monday, 6 July.

He allegedly assaulted him multiple times, pushing him to the ground before fleeing on his e-scooter.

Police will allege the man returned and assaulted the man again on Rankin Road.

The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers executed a search warrant at an address in Scoresby this morning, where the 21-year-old was arrested.

He was interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons with assault offences.
