Police Arrest Man In Morphett Vale Roof Space

A man was arrested at Morphett Vale this morning after trying to get away from police.

Police spotted a Ford station wagon on Baden Terrace, O'Sullivan Beach about 8.45am on Saturday 18 April and followed it at a distance.

The patrol found the car abandoned in Cooder Street, Morphett Vale, a dead-end street, and the driver had run off.

Patrols cordoned off the area and called in the assistance of PolAir and Police Dogs Arlo and Edge.

The suspect was found hiding in the roof space of a nearby address.

A closer examination of the vehicle revealed it was bearing false plates. It was seized and towed away for forensic examination.

The 24-year-old Port Noarlunga man was arrested and charged with engage in a police pursuit after he allegedly failed to stop for police earlier today about 4am at Christies Beach, driving with unassigned plates and outstanding warrants.

He was refused police bail and will appear in court on Monday.
