Police arrest three people after Hampton East death

Homicide Squad detectives have arrested three people following the death of a man in Hampton East yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to an address on Wickham Road about 3.45pm on 21 January, after a 33-year-old Ashburton man was located unresponsive.

The man was then transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he later died.

Three people were arrested at the scene.

The 27-year-old Hampton East man, 28-year-old Berwick man and 25-year-old woman of no fixed address are assisting police with their enquiries.

The parties are believed to be known to each other.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and the investigation is ongoing.
