Police arrest two after chemist break-in

Two people were arrested at Fulham Gardens this morning after allegedly breaking into a chemist.

Police responded to intruder alarms at a Tapleys Hill Road, Fulham Gardens pharmacy just before 4.30am on Sunday 17 September. The premises appeared empty but the door to the medication room was ajar.

A man was spotted running from the scene down Valetta Road.

The patrol found hiding behind a bus shelter, allegedly in possession of medication and a walkie-talkie.

Another man was found nearby with the same walkie-talkie, who it will be alleged was acting as a lookout.

Both men were arrested and charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft. They were both refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

The officers were able to recover the stolen prescription medications.

Crime scene investigators will attend and examine the scene this morning.
