Police Auxiliary Officers accept wages policy

  • WA Police Union accepts Government wage offer
  • $60 per week or 3 per cent per annum increases and $3,000 cost of living payment
  • More than 140,000 public sector employees have accepted Wages Policy

The WA Police Union has accepted wage offers consistent with the WA Government's Public Sector Wages Policy.

Police Auxiliary Officers will receive a wage increase of $60 per week or 3 per cent per annum whichever is greater backpaid to 2 November 2022.

They will also benefit from enhanced shift allowance penalties, receive public health emergency leave, compassionate leave for early pregnancy loss, 24 weeks' superannuation on unpaid parental leave and the introduction of foster carer's leave.

The WA Government has settled 46 agreement negotiations covering more than 140,000 public sector workers during this bargaining round and without the need for arbitration.

The Australian Nurses Federation is the only union yet to accept a wage offer under the current Wages Policy.

Though agreement hasn't been reached, the Government has paid administrative wage increases and the $3,000 cost of living payment to the State's valued public sector registered nurses and midwives.

As stated by Industrial Relations Minister Bill Johnston:

"The Cook Government is pleased to hear a majority of Police Auxiliary Officers have voted to accept the wages policy offer.

"I commend the WA Police Union for their resolve and good faith in securing this outcome."
