Police charge man after assault in Mandurah

Mandurah Detectives have charged a 50-year-old man as a result of their investigation into an assault that occurred in Mandurah on Wednesday, 8 January 2020 which resulted in a 53-year-old man being conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital with serious head injuries.

It is alleged about 5.10pm, the man assaulted the 53-year-old victim outside the Post Office located on Sholl Street. It is further alleged during the altercation the man punched the victim which caused him to fall backwards onto the road, hitting his head on the curb which rendered him unconscious.

The 50-year-old man from Pinjarra has been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm and is next due to appear before the Mandurah magistrates Court on 31 January 2020.
