Police have charged a man after a vehicle search in Chelsea found alleged illicit drugs and cash.
Officers from Chelsea were performing duties as part of Operation Everest when they stopped a car on Thames Promenade on Saturday 5 March about 4.45pm.
A search of the car uncovered quantities of alleged methylamphetamine, heroin, cannabis and cocaine, along with over $8000 in cash and a knife.
A 30-year-old man was arrested and has since been charged with trafficking a drug of dependence, possession of a drug of dependence, possess proceeds of crime and possession of a controlled weapon.
He appeared in court over the weekend and was remanded in custody to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court today, Monday 7 March.
Operation Everest is a seven-week TAC funded operation with officers dedicated to targeting drink and drug driving throughout the Kingston, Glen Eira and Bayside council areas.
