Police charge man after Eynesbury school bus collision

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 49-year-old truck driver following a collision involving a school bus in Eynesbury yesterday.

The Balliang East man was charged with four counts of dangerous driving cause serious injury.

He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court via videolink this afternoon.

The charges relate to a collision between a school bus carrying 45 students and a tipper-truck on Exford Road shortly before 4pm.

Eighteen children were taken to hospital, seven with serious injuries.

The bus driver, a 52-year-old Melton West man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
