Police Charge Man After Fatal Crash At Auburn

A man will face court today following the death of a three-year-old girl in Auburn.

About 2.05pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 September 2026), emergency services were called to Normanby Road, Auburn, following reports a child had been hit by a car.

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and were told a three-year-old girl had been hit by a vehicle while it was entering a driveway.

The girl was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition; however, she later died.

The driver – a 27-year-old man – was uninjured and was taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.

Following his release from hospital, he was taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with negligent driving (occasioning death).

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today, (Wednesday 16 September 2026)
