Police charge man after loaded firearm and drugs located in Carrum Downs hotel car park

Police have charged a man after he was found with an alleged loaded firearm and drugs in Carrum Downs.

Police located the man along with the items in a vehicle at a hotel car park on Hall Road on Wednesday, 10 August about 4pm.

A 38-year-old Keilor Downs man was arrested and has been charged with a number of offences:

- prohibited possession of a firearm (x2)

- possessing ammunition without a license (x2)

- possessing a prohibited weapon without an exemption (x2)

- possessing a controlled weapon without lawful excuse

- possessing a dangerous article without lawful excuse

- possessing Methylamphetamine

- possessing Methylamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking

- possessing MDMA

- dealing property suspected of being proceeds of crime

- committing an indictable offence whilst on bail

He's been remanded and will appear at Frankston Magistrates' Court on 14 September 2022.
