Police charge man after making offensive comments online

A man will face court tomorrow after being charged by police for allegedly making offensive posts online.

Police will allege the man posted a number of offensive comments towards a religious community on a social media page late last night (Friday 20 October 2023).

Following an investigation into the matter, police attached to Operation Shelter arrested a 52-year-old man at a home in Waterloo, about 1.20pm on Saturday 21 October 2023.

He was taken to Surry Hills Police Station and charged with use carriage service to menace/harass/offend.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Sunday 21 October 2023).
