Police charge man after Mount Waverley hit-run

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an alleged hit-run collision in Mount Waverley this morning.

It is alleged a woman was hit by a red Subaru in a motel car-park on Blackburn Road just after 6am.

The driver of the Subaru allegedly fled the scene, and the 35-year-old woman was taken to hospital where she remains with life-threatening injuries.

A 21-year-old Traralgon East man was arrested in Kew and charged with dangerous drive causing serious injury, fail to remain at collision scene, fail to render assistance and fail to report a collision.

The man was presented before Melbourne Magistrates' Court this afternoon.
