Police Charge Man And Woman With Serious Drug Offences

A man and woman have been charged with serious drug trafficking offences in the southern suburbs.

On Wednesday 3 June, Crime Gangs Task Force Detectives conducted a search at a Sellicks Beach address during which they located 100 grams of cocaine, 4 grams of methamphetamine, 27 vials of steroids, $39,500 in cash and other evidence supporting allegations the items were linked to the sale of illicit drugs.

A 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both from the Sellicks Beach address were arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled drug and money laundering. The man was additionally charged with breaching his bail.

Detective Superintendent Campbell Hill, Officer in Charge of the Serious and Organised Crime Branch said that the arrests were another example of South Australia Police's commitment to proactively disrupt the distribution of illicit drugs, prevent risks to the community and hold offenders to account.

Detective Superintendent Hill said, "the Serious and Organised Crime Branch continue to take every opportunity to target both the criminal activities of established criminal gang members along with those who seek to involve themselves in criminal behaviour on the periphery of these groups."

The arrested man and woman were refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Thursday 4 June.
