Police charge man over sexual act - Lavington

A man will face court today charged over an alleged sexual act in the state's south yesterday.

Officers from Murray River Police District commenced an investigation following reports an unknown man performed a sexual act in front of two women on separate occasions at Lavington about 12.30pm yesterday (Thursday 31 December 2020).

Following inquiries, police arrested a 31-year-old man at a home on Union Street, Lavington, about 3.30pm the same day.

He was taken to Albury Police Station and charged with carry out sexual act with another without consent.

Police will allege in court that the man performed a sexual act in front of a 31-year-old woman at a grocery store on Urana Road.

The man was refused bail to appear at Albury Bail Court today (Friday 1 January 2021).

Inquiries are continuing.
