Police charge man over sexual assault and touching of teenage boys - Glebe

A man will face court today, charged with sex-related offences involving three teenage boys dating back to 2008.

Earlier this year, officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command established Strike Force Liamena to investigate the alleged ongoing sexual assault and sexual touching of three teenage boys between 2008 – 2021.

As part of extensive ongoing inquiries, about 8am today (Wednesday 6 July 2022), police executed a search warrant at a home on Campbell Street, Glebe.

Several items were seized, which will now undergo forensic examination.

A 76-year-old man was arrested at the property and taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he has been charged with nine offences:

- sexually touch another person without consent,

- three counts of aggravated indecent assault- victim under authority (DV),

- common assault,

- aggravated sex assault- victim under authority of offender (DV),

- two counts of assault with act of indecency,

- assault with act of indecency, and

- indecent assault person under 16 years of age.

He was refused bail to appear in Newtown Local Court today.

Investigations under Strike Force Liamena continue.
