Police charge man with attempted murder after home invasion

Armed Crime Squad detectives have today charged a man following an aggravated home invasion in Wyndham Vale in August.

A 19-year-old Rockbank man has been charged with attempted murder and aggravated home invasion.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 25 February 2022.

The charges follow an incident at a Ribblesdale Avenue property at approximately 2.20am on Sunday, 8 August.

Police will allege a number of men forced their way into a home before a confrontation occurred with one of the residents.

A 46-year-old Wyndham Vale man was shot in the upper body.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene and conveyed to hospital with serious injuries.
