Police charge man with child sex offences

Central Gippsland Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives have charged a man with sexual offending against children.

A man from Baw Baw Shire was charged on 20 May with two counts of sexual assault of a child under 16, sexual penetration of a child under 12 and two counts of grooming.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred in Rawson against two primary school aged children between 2017 and 2020.

The 43-year-old was charged and will appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court on 6 June.

The investigation remains ongoing.
