Police charge man with drug and firearm offences at Oxley

A man has been charged following the execution of a search warrant at a home in the state's Western Region yesterday.

About 10.00am (Friday 13 August 2021), officers from Oxley Police District attended a home on the Newell Highway, Edgeroi, where they executed a search warrant.

During the search officers seized a number of items including, a Colt 9MM Luger pistol, ammunition, cannabis, methamphetamine, and more than $15 000 in cash.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the home and taken to Narrabri Police Station where he was charged with three counts possess prohibited drug, two counts possess unauthorised pistol, possess unregistered firearm – pistol, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, deal with proceeds of crime

He was refused bail and will appear in Tamworth Local Court today (Saturday 14 August 2021).
