Police charge man with firearm offences - Cawdor

A man has been charged after he allegedly discharged a firearm in an unsafe manner in Sydney's south west yesterday.

About 3.45pm (Saturday 9 March 2019), a man was jogging along Cawdor Road, Cawdor when he allegedly felt two shots travel past him.

Fearing for his safety, the 50-year-old man flagged down a passing motorist and called police.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command searched the area and following inquiries spoke with a 28-year-old man who was using a firearm at a property on Westbrook Road, Cawdor.

He was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with fire firearm at other disregarding public safety and fire firearm in a manner likely to injure persons/property.

Several firearms were seized, and his firearms licence was surrendered.

The Riverstone man was granted bail to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday 9 April 2019.
