Police charge teen over aggravated break-in at Gunnedah

A teen will face court today charged following an investigation into an alleged aggravated break-in in the state's north last month.

About 2.40am on Thursday 17 August 2023, three people – wearing masks - forced entry to a business on Conadilly Street, Gunnedah, by allegedly smashing a glass door before attempting to steal mobile phones and electronic devices.

Following inquiries, investigators attended a home in Gunnedah about 9.50pm yesterday (Tuesday 19 September 2023), and arrested a 16-year-old boy.

He was taken to Gunnedah Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal, destroy/damage property in company, face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The teen was refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Wednesday 20 September 2023).

Inquiries are continuing under Operation Mongoose.
