Police charge teens after Melbourne CBD stabbing and robbery

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two teenage girls following a stabbing and robbery in Melbourne's CBD last night.

It is alleged two men were approached by two girls on the corner of Swanston and Little Lonsdale streets about 11.35pm.

One of the girls allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old man and stole his phone.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is alleged the other girl threatened to stab another 18-year-old man if he did not buy her some food.

The man was not injured.

The two girls fled the scene on foot and were arrested nearby.

A 15-year-old St Albans girl has been charged with robbery, intentionally causing injury, recklessly causing injury, possessing a controlled weapon, and committing indictable offence whilst on bail.

She will appear at a children's court today.

A 15-year-old Frankston girl has been charged with threatening to inflict injury, assaulting a police officer and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail.

She will appear at a children's court at a later date.
