A man and a teenage boy have been charged over an alleged break and enter and pursuit in the state's west yesterday.
About 9.10am yesterday (Sunday 27 April 2025), officers attached to Central West Police District were called to a home on Wambat Street, after reports of an SUV was stolen overnight.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
About 11.10am on the same day, officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command were patrolling on London Road, Parkes, when they attempted to stop the alleged stolen vehicle without numberplates.
When it failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated, however, it was terminated on Park Street, Parkes, due to a safety concern.
About 3.40pm, officers attached to Central West Police District were patrolling Grenfell Street, Parkes, when they attempted to stop the same vehicle and a pursuit was initiated when the vehicle allegedly failed to stop.
A short time later, the vehicle rolled on Ashburnham Road, Daroobalgie, about 18km north west of Forbes.
The driver, a 20-year-old man, and his passenger, a 17-year-old boy, were taken to Parkes Police Station where they were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics with minor injuries.
The man was charged with driver conveyance taken without consent of owner, police pursuit – not stop – drive recklessly (two counts) and never licensed person drive vehicle on road.
He was refused bail to appear at Cowra Local Court today (Monday 28 April 2025).
The boy was charged with be carried conveyance taken without consent of owner.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at children's court on Thursday 5 June 2025.
