Police charge woman after Geelong West pedestrian fatal

Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a woman following a fatal pedestrian collision in Geelong West last year.

The 67-year-old woman has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, drive in a manner dangerous and careless driving.

The Grovedale woman was bailed to appear before Geelong Magistrates' Court on 16 July.

The charges follow a collision on Clarence Street, near Shannon Avenue, about 1.05pm on 16 March.

Police will allege a 79-year-old woman was crossing the road when she was struck by a vehicle.

The Geelong West woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition but sadly died a short time later.
