Police charge woman after pedestrian hit by car - Kellyville Ridge

A woman is in a serious condition after being hit by a car at Sydney's north-west this morning.

Just before 9am today (Wednesday 19 May 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of Windsor Road and Merriville Road, Kellyville Ridge, following reports a 27-year-old woman had been hit by a Toyota Camry while crossing the road.

Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command attended and found the woman with serious head injuries.

She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital where she remains in a serious, but stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota, a 36-year-old woman, was tested at the scene and returned a negative result.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The Lalor Park woman was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station where she was charged with dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm - drive manner dangerous, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, proceed through red traffic light, not stop at stop line at red light, cause bodily harm by misconduct (in charge of motor vehicle) and negligent driving (no death or grievous bodily harm). Her licence was also suspended.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 7 June 2021.
