Police incident at McDonalds, Best Street, Devonport, involving imitation firearm

At approximately 1:30pm on Saturday 13 August 2022 Police received information that a male had threatened staff with a firearm at McDonalds situated at Best Street, Devonport.

Police attended the area and short time later, located and arrested a 17 year old youth who was in possession of an imitation firearm.

The youth, who had previously been banned from the store, has been charged with aggravated assault and has been bailed, with strict conditions, to appear at the Devonport Youth Justice Division Court of Petty Sessions at a later date.

There were no injuries sustained by any staff member or member of the public during the incident.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam footage from around the Best Street, McDonalds area at around 1.30pm.
