Police investigate armed robbery at Taree

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in Taree overnight.

About 9.50pm (Sunday 18 July 2021), three men attended a fast food restaurant on Victoria Street, when one of the men approached a 17-year-old delivery driver parked outside the store and threatened him with a knife.

The other two men entered the store and threatened a 20-year-old male employee with a knife and a baseball bat, demanding cash before fleeing the scene in the delivery driver's yellow Ford Falcon.

Officers from Manning-Great Lakes Police District attended a short time later and established a crime scene.

The men were all wearing dark clothing with their faces covered at the time of the incident.

An investigation has been launched, anyone who may have information which could assist detectives or who may have dashcam footage from the surrounding area between 9.30pm and 10pm is urged to come forward.
