Police investigate Docklands assault

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following an assault in Docklands last month.

A 28-year-old man from California Gully was with a group of friends when they stopped to assist a male who had fallen off a scooter on Webb Bridge on 24 February about 12.20am.

Police were told a man on a low-rider push bike collided with the group whilst they were assisting the injured scooter rider, leading to a verbal confrontation.

It is understood the man on the bike left, then returned to the bridge with three other men before assaulting the victim.

The California Gully man was left with significant facial injuries and the four men fled the scene.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of four men they hope can assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.auExternal Link
