Police investigate fatal crash - near Tumut

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash near Tumut earlier this week.

About 12.15pm on Tuesday (21 May 2019), a Toyota Hilux travelling south along the Snowy Mountains Highway, Blowering, lost control, hit a barrier and rolled coming to rest onto an embankment.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver and sole occupant, a 66-year-old man from Talbingo at the scene. He was airlifted to Canberra Hospital.

Despite the efforts of medical staff, the man died yesterday (Thursday 23 May 2019).

A crime scene was established and officers from Riverina Police District Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
