Police investigate Kew sexual assault

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a sexual assault which occurred on a tram in Kew in April.

Investigators have been told a 15-year-old girl boarded a tram on Stevenson Street about 10.45am on 4 April.

A man came up behind the girl, who was standing near the rear door, and sexually assaulted her.

The victim got away from the man and got off the tram at High Street and Cotham Road, Kew.

Investigators believe the offender stayed on the tram for one more stop before disembarking at Charles Street and Cotham Road.

Detectives have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
