Police investigate serious assault at Clontarf

A 27-year-old man has been charged following the alleged wounding of a man at Clontarf last night (September 15).

Police were called to a Cedar Street residence at approximately 10.30pm, where a 49-year-old Clontarf man was located with wounds to his head and chest.

It will be alleged an altercation occurred in which the 49-year-old man was struck multiple times with a broken bottle.

He was transported in a serious but stable condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

A 27-year-old Clontarf man was taken into custody at the scene.

It will be alleged the two men are known to each other.

The 27-year-old man has been charged with one count each of wounding (domestic violence) and assault occasioning bodily harm (domestic violence).

His bail has been refused, and he is expected to appear before Redcliffe Magistrates Court today (September 16).
