Police investigate stabbing in Preston

Detectives are investigating after a teenager was stabbed in Preston this afternoon.

It is believed two boys were on a bus when they were involved in an altercation, in the vicinity of Murray Road, about 4.15pm.

Police have been told that during the altercation, one of the boys who is believed to be aged in his late teens, received an injury to the upper body.

The other teen got off the bus and fled on foot.

The injured teenager has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers have cordoned off the area while they process the scene.
