Police investigate Wollert crash

Police are investigating a single vehicle crash in Wollert today just after 4.30pm.

Investigators have been told a white Ford Falcon sedan was observed at the intersection of Edgars Road, next to a dark coloured Mazda hatchback travelling west.

It's believed when the lights turned green, both vehicles have taken off at a fast rate of speed.

The driver of the Ford has lost control as it attempted to overtake the Mazda, causing the vehicle to leave the road, and roll multiple times before coming to rest in a paddock.

A 3-year-old girl was ejected from the vehicle and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other two female passengers in the car aged 10 and 5-years-old were also taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver, a 32-year-old Mickleham man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Mazda left the scene and is yet to be located.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or with dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
