Police Investigating Wounding At Southport 17 September

Police are investigating the wounding of a man at a Southport unit last night, 16 September.

Around 10.45pm, police were called to a unit at North Street in relation to an assault.

Officers arrived on scene where they located a man who had sustained a stab wound to his chest and facial lacerations.

Investigations indicate that a group of people had been gathered at the unit when a physical altercation broke out between two men known to each other.

The 26-year-old Broadbeach Waters man was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Investigations continue to locate the other man involved.

Police believe there is no ongoing threat to the community.
