Police Investigation - Dawesville Disturbances

Officers from Mandurah's Rapid High Harm Offender Response team are seeking public assistance as they investigate two allegedly linked incidents that occurred in Dawesville on Friday, 1 May 2026.

About 1.40pm, police received reports of a disturbance inside a fast-food kebab store on Dandaragan Drive, where several people were allegedly involved in a physical altercation causing damage to the premises.

The group left the scene prior to police arrival. No injuries were reported.

About 8.30pm the same day, police received reports of another disturbance outside a home on Aldersyde Way involving a large group of people. It will be alleged that some members of the group had covered their faces, smashed windows at the property, attempted to gain entry, and damaged two vehicles parked outside.

It will be alleged a 55-year-old man involved with the group assaulted the 17-year-old male occupant with a metal pole. The teenager sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was able to restrain the man until police arrived a short time later, when he was taken into custody.

The remainder of the group dispersed prior to police arrival.

A 55-year-old man from Herron has been charged with:

• 1 x Attempted aggravated home burglary

• 1 x Aggravated assault occasioning bodily harm

• 1 x Being armed in a way that may cause fear

He was bailed from Mandurah Magistrates Court and is next due to reappear on Friday, 22 May 2026.
