Police lay charges after bottle-shop robbery

A 24 year old man, has been charged and will face an out of hours court in regards to the armed robbery of the Beltana hotel bottle shop on Friday night.

Police will allege the male entered the bottle shop armed with a knife shortly before 9 pm. After making threats to a staff member, he left with an amount of money.

He was arrested by police a short time later without incident.

"Although the staff member was not physically injured during the incident, he was understandably shaken" Sergeant Adrian Mollon said.

Anyone who saw a male wearing a dark hoodie, and a back pack acting suspiciously around the Beltana hotel at the time of the incident is asked to contact their local police station.
